THE PROBLEM
Identity was meant to unlock access. Instead, it became the single biggest attack vector on the internet.

Decline in global internet freedom
Your identity is the attack surface. Every platform that stores your data becomes the next target.
Platforms fight bots by demanding more of your data. Proving you are human now means giving up your privacy.
One viral post can cost you your job, your investors, your relationships. Your real name is your stored reputation, and anyone can debit it.
HOW IT WORKS
Every member is verified as real, but no one can see who they actually are. Not other users, not us, not anyone.
Verify attributes about yourself. Where you work, your nationality, your age, your bank balance without revealing your name, email, or any identifying details. You control exactly what you prove.
Your credentials unlock access to communities called 'Bands.' A Google engineer credential gets you into the Google Engineers Band. A nationality credential gets you into country-specific communities. Different credentials, different contexts, no linkage between them.
Post, comment, vote, and connect, knowing every person you interact with is verified. No bots. No fakes. Just real people having honest conversations.
VERIFICATION TYPES
Verify different parts of your identity to access the communities that matter to you.
Proves program membership
Proves where you work, not who you are
Proves your country of citizenship
Proves you're an adult
Proves where you studied
Proves your compensation bracket
Proves your financial standing
Proves professional credentials
THE PSEUDONYMOUS ECONOMY

Honest question, is the new reorg actually going to improve things or is this just musical chairs? Curious what other L5+ engineers think.

The Chat Control Act is a disaster for privacy. EU citizens need to organize against mass surveillance of private messages. Who else is pushing back?

Has anyone successfully renegotiated their SAFE terms post-Demo Day? Looking for data points, not advice from people who've never done it.

Thinking about taking a 40% pay cut to join a Series A. Anyone done this and NOT regretted it? Need real experiences.
YOUR PRIVACY
We use zero-knowledge proofs to verify your credentials. In plain English: our system can confirm “yes, this person works at Google” without ever seeing your email, your name, or any identifying information. You decide what to disclose. Every credential you share reveals the minimum possible about who you are.
We don't store your email, name, passport number, or any identifying information. Ever. We simply never have it in the first place.
There is no link between your account and your real-world identity, and not even we can connect the two.
Openbands is a pseudonymous social platform where every member is verified as a real person, but speaks under a pseudonym that carries reputation without exposing their real identity. You prove things about yourself (where you work, your nationality, your background) without revealing who you are. This creates communities where you can have honest, authentic conversations with people you know are real.
It takes less than 60 seconds. Depending on the credential type, you'll either verify through your work email or scan your passport using your phone's camera. The verification happens entirely on your device, and we never see or store your personal information.
We go further than 'safe' because we never have your personal information at all. Openbands uses zero-knowledge proofs, which means our system can confirm 'yes, this person is a Google employee' without ever seeing your email or name. There's nothing to hack because there's nothing to steal.
Bands are communities of verified people. For example, the 'Google Engineers' Band only contains people who have verified they work at Google. The 'EU Unfiltered teres' Band only contains people who have verified their European citizenship. You can join as many Bands as you have credentials for.
Blind is a great comparison, and we're building on that idea but going further. Blind only verifies your work email and stores it on their servers. Openbands verifies multiple credential types (work, nationality, age, and more) using zero-knowledge cryptography, meaning we never store any of your personal data. Plus, our communities aren't limited to just company chat.
No. Openbands handles everything behind the scenes. You sign up with a simple passkey (like Face ID or fingerprint) and never interact with anything crypto-related. The technology that powers our verification is advanced, but the experience is as simple as any modern app.
Imagine you need to prove you're over 21 to enter a bar. Normally, you'd show your ID, revealing your name, address, birthday, and photo. A zero-knowledge proof is like a magical stamp on your hand that says 'verified: over 21' without the bouncer ever seeing your ID. That's what Openbands does with your credentials.
